Surrey Students Visit Their First Lodge

On Friday 20th February, four University of Surrey students went north to experience what the initiation ceremony is like from the other side of the blindfold. Accompanied by the Worshipful Master and Senior Deacon the four Entered Apprentices, three of whom were only Initiated in December, were on their first visit to another Lodge.

Wyggeston Lodge No.3448, the Universities Scheme Lodge for the University of Leicester, were the hosts. They performed an excellent Initiation ceremony, welcoming three more students into Freemasonry. Also present was the Treasurer of the newly Consecrated Ironbridge Lodge No. 9897 in Shropshire.

Despite an arduous journey from Guildford to Leicester, our students thouroughly enjoyed the evening, making new friends and taking part in an excellent exercise in University Freemasonry. They are very keen to repeat the experience, but maybe next time we’ll stay a little closer to home.
